2022  Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show

Fiano thrives on our property and we work both in the vineyard and winery to build a textural and concentrated wine, tracing the line between the exotic characters in the variety and the natural tannin and acid levels.

A medium colour, this wine has punchy fruit aromas of kaffir lime, sherbet and dried pineapple, balanced with complex creamy lees perfume and cardamom spice. The palate is concentrated and full bodied, with the phenolic structure and acid line driving the length and finish of the wine.

Sourced from Sutton Grange Winery’s 2005 planted North block Fiano. Cooler and more expressive, this parcel was picked one week later than the warmer South block Fiano. 65% whole bunch pressed, 35% foot-stomped with 18 hours skin contact (all pressings excluded). Cold settled and racked to stainless steel and old oak for wild fermentation and six months maturation, sulphured on gross lees. Bottled October 27, 2021
